True, it's generally not a good idea to say something to somebody you
don't know very well. Within the family, it is generally OK, but even
then, there can be exceptions.

My fingers are having more and more moments of non co operation this

Why not give it a try? The cost of living should be reasonable. Are you
still book indexing as a source of extra income?

It does help to back up. We've had hard drives go bad and other system
crashes that we've been able to salvage because of back ups.

I've either got them on paper or don't have and don't miss.  I'm working
on geting our "junk" room organised and will be disposing of a lot of
excess paper in the proccess.  Part of the next step after that is to
organise my recipes and photos.  If I find I don't have a particular
recipe, I'm sure I can find it or a "close enough" one on the internet.
Somewhere in my paper collection, I've got a newspaper clipping for
Mexican fried rice.  I made it a few times and it was pretty good but
don't know if I ever posted the recipe here.

We've had offers of help from people with C-64 systems.  I can't see it
happening in the forseeable future tho, with what we know will be
happening over the next year or so.  Timing just doesn't look
good--unless Steve can do it in a few days worth of work.

We'd been in AZ less tha a week when this was published.  Got into Fido
about the end of January, 94 and been in here in Cooking since about the
first week or so we were in Fido.
