I've always had bad eyesight and slow healing of bruises. Few infections.
Infrequent urination and almost no thirst. I've been known to take a
10-hour flight without drinking anything but Courvoisier and never
getting up to pee.

I have a friend who controls his sugar by eating bitter melon
and occasionally drinking his own effluvia.

It was the croaker who suggested this, so I got sent to a specialist
who found a slight elevation in something or another but no structural
damage at all. No retinopathy, no vessel damage, nothing.

I'd rather die!

They would not be better off saying any such thing. The public
would be better off if they said that.

There's ample evidence to contradict that notion, such as the
example of one's taste buds.

BURONG BABI (Tucino)
cat: Philippine, main
servings: 12

5 lb skinless pork - shoulder or butt roast
6 Tb salt
4 oz white sugar
1 ts red food coloring (optional)

Debone roast and slice meat into 1/4" x 2" x 3" pieces.
(Tocino is mainly pork meat with fat in it and Burong Babi
is mainly the pork rind or skin with some meat and fat
attached to it)

Combine salt and sugar mix with the sliced pork meat
thoroughly. Add red food coloring if preferred.

Keep the seasoned meat in a plastic container covered with a
plastic sheet for at least a week at room temperature to cure.
After a week the seasoned meat should be cured and will have
a bit of a sweet and sour taste and should be kept in the
refrigerator.

Cook by pan-frying or broiling in the oven or the barbecue.
