Yes, it's the kind of thing you would have expected a sister would want for her
own child :)  I have 4 of them... so I know (vbg)

Well, it's great that you did grab them up for Neekha, now she's going to

hahaha :) Now, did you phony up a hat like the swedish chef wore too? like with
a pillow case or something?? (g)  THAT would have been quite a picture, gramps
:) :)

I thought it was really nice that my daughter's son liked to help her with
cooking (well, at 2, kids like doing anything with Mom (grin))..  But for my
daughter's boy's, they really do actually enjoy cooking perhaps more than most
others, but it makes sense that they would..My daughter's husband had been a
Chicago Fireman, and as such, he'd learned to cook out of necessity because he
had to cook  now and then when it was his turn,  "for the crowd" in the
firehouse. Now, the boys see Dad cooking pretty often either along with mom, or
by himself :)  so it's the norm around their house ...

===Noodle or Pasta Dough===

4 cups flour
4 large eggs
4 Tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt


Put flour in a mound on flat board or surface.  Make a well in the center.
Place eggs, oil and salt in the well.  Mix lightly with fork. With your hands,
gradually pull in flour from inner walls of the well, forming a batter and a
dough.
Work the dough from the sides and then pushing under, to keep work surface dry.


Work the dough with hands, keep board clean by scraping off bits of dry dough.

Lightly flour the board or surface, and kneed the dough 2-3 minutes with the
palm of your hand, folding
dough over on itself.  Flatten to 1/2 thickness.  Lightly oil dough all around,
wrap in plastic wrap and let rest 10 minutes.

Follow pasta machine directions to roll out dough and cut fettuccine or
spaghetti.

If you are not using a pasta machine, roll out  the dough on a floured surface
with a rolling pin to desired thickness.  Either cut into strips with knife, or
roll up the rolled dough and cut cross-wise into strips.

Either way, allow the pasta to dry out on a lightly floured surface, or
hanging, for about 30 minutes.

To cook, add pasta to boiling salted water and allow to boil for about 5
minutes.
