Ärende: Ace of Cakes

Our grand daughter Cassie, who many of you met at the picnic here last
year, wanted only one thing for her 18th birthday/high school graduation
party -- a cake from Charm City Cakes (as made famous on the Food
Network show, Ace of Cakes).

Our daughter went ahead and ordered the cake last October.  You have to
do that months in advance.  She choose a theme from one of Cassie's
favorite Indian Bollywood music videos.  In the video there are people
dancing and singing on top of a train.

On Sunday 25 May, they went into Baltimore to pick up the cake.  Cassie
knew she was getting a cake, but did not know what the theme was going
to be.  She recognized the music video theme right away and was quite
pleased.  Chef Duff was pleased that she liked it.

The cake was a two layer yellow cake.  It was very fresh tasting,
considering that it took them a number of days to finish the decorating.
The decorations were all edible except for the silver railroad tracks
and the platform under the green fondant, which represented grass.  Even
the cross ties were edible.  This size cake would serve 30 people.  It
was about two feet long.

I have no idea what the cost was -- but it appeared to be worth every
penny to see how happy Cassie was with it.
