Allowing?  I could easily be accused of starting it:-}}

But do let me echo Stephen's remark in his very well written review --
consider carefully what you want one for.  My EeePC was purchased for
use as a travel computer, with a catalyst of our upcoming tour to Alaska
begining this week.  It so happens that it has a built in webcam which
would enable video phone calls -- and on that basis I recommended it for
consideration to Ruth and Steve (thinking of them and kids and grandkids
at distant locations).

For both of us, the weight was an important factor.  They are about 2
pounds -- very light and easy to carry around.  I have other laptops.  I
believe that you used my middle sized one, an Avertec that I keep in the
family room.  I use it when sitting in my chair watching TV and surfing
at the same time.  It weighs about 4.5 pounds, not heavy but not as
light as the EeePC.  The other laptop was in the upstairs bedroom where
Dave and Michael stayed.  It is fairly large, essentially a desktop
replacement and weighs almost 8 pounds.

Take the time and wait for the picnic.  You will see ours, and we can
talk about it in more depth to guide you on your way to finding one that
fits your needs.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Grill Sauce For Pork Or Chicken
 Categories: Sauce, Barbecue
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      1    Stick of margarine, melted
      2 tb Chili powder...or
           Tobasco or any hot sauce.
           Juice of 1/2 a lemon
           Bit of Worcestershire sauce
           Garlic powder
           Celery salt
 
  Melt the marg and add the other ingredients.  I use this for grilling
  on the back porch adn keep it near the fire so it's warm.  Keep
  stirring as you use it 'cause the chili powder keeps settling to the
  bottom.  It gives a piquant flavor without getting to "hot" to the
  tongue.  We did a pork loin roast and basted it and it was delicious.
  
  You can also do this in the oven, just basting once in a while
  with the sauce.  Good on wings.
