Hi Carol,

CS> Decent haul there. I made a really short trip to Harris Teeter's
CS> which I rarely do, but needed some dogfood and a few items. By wisely
CS> shopping just the specials, got out with a few good things at a not
 CS> too horrible price.

That's good. We can usually manage to come out with only what was on the
list (more so with stores on the economy) most of the time. The
commissary, since I do most of the month's shopping at once, generally
gets the not on the list items as it's usually something I forgot to put
on the list but we need kind of thing.

CS> The reasonable one was snow crab for 7.99$ so got Don 1 lb of it. He
CS> loves it so! I got me a good avocado in recompense <g>.

Sounds good--crab & avocado salad?

 > CS> (woof woof, workers just showed up for the back room).
 CS> >
 > Horray; I've read some of your reports on the progress.

CS> It's done now and i'm very happy with the results. We still have our
CS> end of the work to do, but that's a known part when we contracted for
 CS> just the 2 walls.

CS> Next stage is to panel the 2 remaining walls, then replace the door to
CS> the screened porch. We have a line on a fellow who can do that with a
CS> simple steel one for 150$ (it's not fancy and has no window etc but
CS> comes with frame). Carpet after that.

Looking a lot better than it did when you first moved back in? You
sounded sort of discouraged then; now you're sounding a lot happier.
Could be Cash and Daisy are helping along those lines too. (G)

CS> Mom took to computers really well. I get email most days from her.

I think my mom is really scared of them. I had a doctor's appointment
yesterday (follow along on several issues, found out he's PCSing to Fort
Jackson, SC next month) so brought along the EEEPC. He was quite
interested in it. (G)

CS> My brother did too. Looked like a pipe cleaner with the fuzz pulled
 CS> off, at 6"1' at 135lbs.

Mine was like that for a bit but bulked up quick when he went to college
and the legal drinking age was still 18. He developed a liking for beer
which lasted until about 9-10 years ago. A fellow fireman killed a
teen, driving after a few beers. He got off light but my brother
realised it could be him hitting a kid in the same stage so he quit.
He's still got a good "beer belly" tho. (G)

 > CS> Skip the pepper for our house <g>.

 > We had it in moderation. My mom also bought onion salt & garlic salt; I
 > can remember one time when my sister made the spaghetti sauce. She had

CS> Ikk! Run for the hills!

Yes, it was pretty nasty. After seeing her make it, I had a hard time
eating it without gagging.

 > CS> This was a citrus blend and i don't recall peaches in there. I do

CS> Ah, this was high end stuff from the fridge case in a glass jar <g>.

We have bought that a few times. It's good, especially if you can't get
the fruits in it at a decent price in their fresh version.

 CS> (Grape jelly)
 > CS> I was thinking to make some but that one time the work doesnt really

CS> Sensible. I did make one really easy jelly. It came from the back of
CS> a pectin pouch and used just apple juice, sugar, and the pouch. It
 CS> actually was quite good!

Those can be quite good, especially if you have agood quality juice to
begin with.
