I've got a couple of books too but have done several projects without
using the books. In HI, a friend wanted me to make  mu'umu'u from one
she had, but make it a couple of sizes larger. In that case, I took the
one apart.  After she wore it once or twice, she had me take it apart
and make one of a different design from the fabric.

Nice! If there's time, I'd like to take a look at a kit if it's OK with

I've not (yet) seriously gotten into reupholstry.  Did a seat and back
for a computer chair about 10 years ago but it was dead easy.

Oh well, you are trying. Are the raviloi makers compatable with what you
already have?

For sure! I've got to be careful when I use my mom's Revereware as it's
so different from what I'm used to.  Her kitchen tool set is way
different from mine; I use wooden spoons and such like for stirring but
she will use an old table spoon. I can get frustrated really easy with
her kitchen stuff. (G)
