Hi Ruth!

> Planning on it, had another not so popular exam today and came thru with

Glad to hear about the excellent report :)

> Dr. said with the family history, it shold be done

Better to be careful I would think.

>> this week, we're waiting for details from the JFK Stroke center in
>> Palm Beach Florida.. Test results aren't back yet, the doctor should

Yes, it's been up and down the last several days.. literally.. Finally this
evening some relatively good news.. It has been determined that she has an
obstruction in small intestine, so the doctor is going to try to solve the
problem with a liquid diet rather than surgery (best news I've heard all week
(g)). Believe me, there were a few times when all of us thought the worst
given the info we were getting (really aggravating..) Well, things are looking
up now thank goodness.

> lived.

Yeah, it's bad. And because I was on this wonderful drug at the time, (which
the doc took me off, thank goodness) the combination of the drug and the heat
made it impossible to walk at all.. literallly.. :( By the time I got to
Cornell/Med. Center NYHosp. I was quite a mess. I call that a sucessful visit
if I can off a nasty drug (bg).

>> > store brand will be just as good, surprisingly.
>> Yep.. we read carefully :)
> So do we (well, mostly Steve).

You pretty much have to these days..

That is something :)

Could be.. I remember there was a cork they gave you to plug that hole, but I
lost it long long ago ... no doubt so did your mom.. Maybe I used a different
cork last summer, but I don't remember doing that.

>> hehe.. yep.. and the icecream is softer too... you don't get nice hard
>> icecream.. eventually it hardens though.. but it's not the same

> But, it's cold and tastes good--that's what counts. BTW, the couple of

I don't freeze it in the container I make it in because it would be awkward..
the cylander for the wooden bucket is very very long, and the other ice cream
maker probably container really can't be sealed. So, no big deal, I always have
another tub to move it into.. works for me (g). With the wooden bucket maker,
you don't see so much of the crystal stuff.. unless the ice cream melts and
re-freezes.. but I'll try your idea and see if it makes a difference. Could
help :)

>> > Until something newer in technology comes out, like blu-ray.

> Yes; can you imagine? My mom's dad passed away 50 years ago this year;
> he would probably have had fun with some of this technology. He was an

Pretty cool :)

>> haha :) I like kim chee.. in moderation :) :) I can eat it .. with a
>> mouthfull of rice directly following haha :) but I do like it a lot :)

> We like the cucumber better than the cabbage most of the time. The

Agree there :)

>I do like being able to taste the
> other parts of my meal too. (G)

hahahahahaha that is so true :)

>> I like making it was well.. I had a great time growing the cabbage in
>> my garden last year and was going to grow this year, but time got away
>> from me.. :( I could probably throw some seed in now.. might make
>> it.. we're back down to 60's again for the next 7 days..(what weird
>> weather :( :( ).. I give up on my garden this year!

> Sounds like my dad. (G)

Well, I got the chinese cabbage in, the cold wave gave in to the heat wave, the
seedlings didn't make it ... and I've been busy...so I think I purchase some
chinese cabbage :) :) My cukes are coming up though.. so that something..
aggraving year for the garden, but there's still quite a bit of summer to go
yet..

Take care,
Janis
