Robert is 7 1/2 and has a decent appetite. Sarah, 2 1/2 will eat quite a
lot of something if she likes it. She likes hot foods; the other day
Rachel made some salsa. Sarah pulled a chair over to the island where
the bowl was sitting and went to town, dipping chips in and munching
them. As salsas go, it was a milder one; it had a bit of a tingle to it
but not hot. Rachel says she likes hot tho. She has been known to swipe
black olives off her parent's plates too.

I've got a bit more than that in my NC kitchen. My primary work space is
the corner where the stove side meets the sink side. It may be 2' by 3',
with space at the back taken up with tool crocks, my KA, toaster, etc
but it's the most convenient to the stove & sink and not too far from
the fridge.  You have more open space than I do but the butler is needed
for storage. I don't have much free wall space because of the counter
tops, microwave cart, freezer, etc. But, we each make whatever we have
work for us.
