Once you have a reputation as a 
bridge player, it's hard to get folks
to play with you for $$. Poker or 
pinocle is different and everyone
seems to think they are a master
of the game, while very few really
are..and those who think they are
much better than they in fact are,
are money in the bank for those 
who play "seriously"...I enjoy a good
drink...but I NEVER drank when playing
cards or pool at least for $$.

Nor do I, I wish I could still sleep

Easier said than done at times. If one 
has a family, and connections to the 
land one stands upon..it's not always
that easy to leave. Sometimes it's
mandatory and the upheaval is 
unavoidable. My nephew is 
tethered by such. I wish he weren't
and he could do better if he could 
move his family to a better economic 
climate...even YellowKnife...but it 
won't happen. At least not while my
mother is alive.
