The freezer is so full that when I show up my task is to
remove things and use them up. Though I thought I did a
decent job last time, when I left it still looked to
these inexpert eyes to be pretty full.

I had one called "Fabulous Feasts," and it wasn't bad: but
in that case, the fabulousness referred to the fabled part:
it was a book of mediaeval recipes.

That's a smart retailer. Make it seem like a bargain, and it's
only about a 5% discount.

There used to be an echo picnic custom whereby people would
find the worst available swill and present it to me amid much
pomp and circumstance. That was when I was young, handsome,
and good-humored. I do not recommend doing this at this stage.

Sauteed Eggplant (Tumis terong)
cat: Indonesian, side, main
servings: 3 to 6

2 md eggplant
2 Tb vegetable oil
3 Tb sweet soy sauce (optional)
1/2 md onion sliced
1 cl garlic
1 ts shrimp paste
salt and pepper

Wash egg plant and cut in 1 1/2" cubes or slice in strips 2"
wide. Heat oil and fry onion, garlic, and shrimp paste for
2 min. Add eggplant, stir, and cover pan. Simmer 10 min. If
it dries out, add 1/4 c water. Salt and pepper to taste.
