Ärende: Another epic grocery trip

Hi!  I'm so far behind, gonna title scan my way up and hope I don't miss too
many goodies!

In penance, here's my most recent escapade.

American Asian Grocery, I believe Ruth and Steve made a hop up there to check
it out.  Janis, close to 3 times th size of the one we went to up in your
neck of the woods but your's wasn't shabby.  It just didnt have the huge
fresh foods assortments and a fish market inside.

To start, got more food than the 3 of us can eat in 2 weeks for $140.  I
didn't ned to get any condiments or sauces as we have a full stock of those.

Best steal: Early season blue crab, lively as heck.  Got 12 of them for
1.99/lb ($7.18 as they are small at this season).  Males only of course at
this season (females are tossed back in to breed).  Ours are smaller but
sweeter.  Due to size, they are mostly a local consumable vice commercially
gathered so we have no endangerment of them.

Next best: Fresh pea greens.  I have no idea why these are not comercially
sold.  These are the green leaves of pea plants (not sure if they are sugar
pod ones or not but since they mostly sell sugar pods, I suspect so). 
Outstanding in a salad or just as they are on a samwhich.  Steamed, they are
delishioso!  Got a huge bag for $1.29.  Unlike some other plants, steamed
they are still substantial meaning they don't disappear to almost no food
like spinach and mustard greens can.  The bag was about 1.5 lbs.  I think the
sign said .89lb.

Fresh milder asian mustard greens.  These are not bitter as the larger
american ones can be.  1.05/lb, got 2 lbs.

Cauliflower head, 1.29ea, this was a good sized fellow.  Regular groceries
have them at 2.99ea or more.

Asian eggplant, 1.29/lb (3.99/lb elesewhere). 
Yellow and green summer squash, .69/lb (cheapest local regular store was
.89/lb sale, most are 1.29/lb or more).

8 for dollar ramen noodle packs.  Not your standard cheapo ones but the
better more flavorful versions mostly Philippenes and Thailand.

3 different sets of gelitin candies in big reusable plastic tubs we later
fill with flour or rices or pastas.

4 lbs chicken gizzards and 1 lb hearts to mix with them, .59/lb.

Rack of pork ribs 1.29/lb and same price for noher one in korean cross cut
style (we got 3 lbs rack and 2 lbs korean cut).

Meaty oxtails at 1.29/lb, well at least one pack jumped in my cart!.  It's
going (3 of them) in a crockpot and will tell ya later on that one.

5lb bag Kokiu calrose rice, $2.59 (Texas grown).

Apple jelly candies 2.99 but these are special and the ingredients are
apples, geletin and salt.  A distinct flavor of sweetness with just a touch
of salt backing that is perfect.

12 oz lemon icing filled wafer/waffle cookies.  1.29 a box.

12.99 for a *cleaned* frozen duck (hehehe), product of New Jersy, I see the
exact *same* brand at Harris Teeter for 34$.

Shemenji, Fresh Shiitake, and King Oyster mushrooms and some peeled garlic
(about a cup worth) as well as 2 mangos (the mangos were .99ea which is
better than most places unless on sale).

3 green bell peppers and 3 red ones, 1.19/lb and 1.29/lb respectively which
isn't all that cheap but theirs last much longer than regular store market
ones here.

Lots of other little things leapt in as well such as dried udon noodle
(charlotte has taken to liking them better as she can size it more than the
premade packages).

My fridge floweth over!
