Which leads one to the remedy that assailants might do well
to enlist: beating one's victims to the degree that they wouldn't
be able to make an identification under any circumstance. I somehow
doubt that photographic display would be effective anyway.

I'd be inclined to take them to court over that. My
reason for not voting would have something to do with the
unfitness of the candidates.

Did you see that one of our lawmakers was accused of sending a
lewd photo of himself to one of his Internet admirers; then
claiming for several days that he hadn't done so; then finally
coming "clean" yesterday. What possesses these people?

Peach cobbler cupcakes
cat: dessert
servings: 28

3 c cake flour
1/2 Tb baking powder
1/2 Tb baking soda
2 ts sea salt
1 ts nutmeg
3/4 sweet butter, room temp
2 Tb white miso paste
3 vanilla beans, scrapings from
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, packed
2 lg eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 c creme fraiche
3 lg ripe peaches, peeled, cored, chopped
brown sugar frosting

Oven at 350F. Line 28 muffin cups with paper
liners. Sift first 5 ingredients together and
set aside. Cream next 5 ingredients together;
add eggs in 3 stages, scraping down sides and
bottom of bowl to incorporate. Gently mix in
creme fraiche. Stir in dry ingredients. Fold
in peaches.

Divide batter among lined cups. Bake until done,
about 20 min. Let cupcakes cool 5 min and then
turn out onto a wire rack. When completely cool,
frost with brown sugar frosting and serve. Can
be prepared 1 day in advance; store refrigerated
in airtight container and remove 1 hr before serving.

Brown sugar frosting

yield: 1 batch

1 1/4 c light brown sugar
1/4 c cornstarch
1/4 c powdered sugar
1/2 ts sea salt
1 lb cream cheese, room temp
1/2 c sweet butter, room temp
1/2 ts vanilla

Mix first 4 ingredients in a small bowl.

Beat cream cheese and butter in a large bowl
until fluffy. Add sugar mixture and vanilla.
Beat until light. Chill 1 hr before use.
