Ärende: tastes at Safeco field

Hey Michael!

Took Amanda to Safeco to see the M's play 
the Marlins on Saturday night. Anne stayed 
home and rested. We never even sat in our 
seats for the entire game !(grin) Saw lots of
my co-workers and got lots of hugs and 
got to introduce Amanda to a good lot of 
folks. 

We did a big walk around the park several
times. 

And we sampled some of the goodies...not
as many as I thought we would though!

300 level: Hot dog...the quintessential 
baseball grub, on a cheap bun...I 
put mustard and sauerkraut  on mine
Amanda went with relish, ketchup, and 
mustard on hers. 

100 level: Flying Tortoise (used to 
be the bullpen pub) underneath the
manual scoreboard in left field. We 
sat at the window and watched an
inning while we each enjoyed a libation.
Amanda had an IPA which was nicely
hopped and quite tasty..I had a Gin
and tonic ($8) which was about
a half a shot of gin with tonic and
a lot of ice! Still it was the first gin
and tonic I'd had in a while and I
enjoyed it while it lasted! 

100 level: THE PEN, a new  addition 
this year is THE PEN...more open than
the last few years with several new
food offerings, Apizza, pizza by the slice
or whole, reputed to be VERY good...we 
did not get any of that. La Creperie, crepes
of many styles...ham and cheese, roast beef
etc. Amanda got Nutella and fruit (strawberries)
and it was VERY Good!! I went Hamburg et Frites
and had a hamburger...MUCH better than the regular
ballpark burger...not from a frozen patty, hand formed
and twice as thick, and the meat is seasoned as well
probably something like montreal steak seasoning,
but it does add flavor..came with onion slice, tomato
slice and lettuce and dill pickle slices...I LIKED it!

The M's lost but Amanda and I had a great
time!
