Even though I am not a gamer (beyond time waster solitaire games or jigsaw
puzzles) there certainly is benefit for me, in pictures accompanying news
articles, for instance. Streaming music over the interweb. Even the adverts
from places which I allow to send me adverts. The point and click (WIMP)
interface invented at Xerox's PARC facility and spread world-wide, etc., etc.,
etc.

Yessir, Mr. Ludd. Truth is it came hand-in-glove. My first PET and my first
Trash 80 both came bundled with GAMES - block graphics, text driven, but GAMES.
And y'know what? When I showed the computers to friends and acquaintances the
first place they headed was to the GAMES.

That would depend on the part of OO you are using at the time. The word
processor that allows you to add graphics, sound and video in your papers? The
Power Point equivalent application? The ability to add graphics, sound and
video in both the spreadsheet *AND* the database?

Take the fillers of a hog: chope them very small with a handfull of red Sage:
