Nope Not to Stans...which I have
never visited. Have heard conflicting reports
as to how "good" it is...it's Kansas City style
BBQ not Tennessee or "Deep South" style.

Porter's in Tacoma was/is run by Gene's son Alton.
Gene passed away in 2010 and he ran Dixie's BBQ 
in Bellvue. Alton moved down to Tacoma and opened
up Porter's. After Gene passed away his wife 
Dixie and their Daughter LJ kept Dixies open 
but it was Alton in Tacoma who was supplying
the smoked meats for them.  LJ passed away 
earlier this year and Dixies closed, as did Porter's
upscale location in Tacoma (where Michael and 
the Shipps have both dined), but I have found
where the "next" location is going to be and will
keep an eye on it...and if I see Alton around town
( I do see him every so often) I'll see how the 
timeschedule is looking! It was Alton we met
at the Porters place at the first Nortwet
Picnic.
