Or by not needing to provide for said kid(s)... sometimes they do even
better for themselves before you need to leave them anything... ;)

Perhaps someone else hosed things down... and they were just lucky.  Or
maybe, after you left, they thought it thru, realized the error of their
ways, and rethought their indignation...  Perhaps they learned their
lesson after all...  ;)
