Ärende: McDonald's coffee

They are in the northeastern states. Other suppliers in other places.
In Canada it's been Mother Parkers since in 2003.

In a recent blind taste test McDonald's "new" coffee outscored both
Starbucks and Time Hortons.

But their old coffee was the cheapest, vilest, rankest stuff on the
restaurant scene. I guess that's before they realized that parents
came to their places with the kids and that the morning drive through
trade was lucrative too.

And now they are going head to head with Starbucks with their McCafe
stores. Yellowknife is getting one very soon.

Yeah. Where you had a Big Rock Traditional and panned it. It is the
least flavourful of their line-up, and the most similar to mega
corp swill so naturally it ended up being the most popular one, and
often the only one in many bars. Their IPA is respectable and
Mcnally's Extra Irish ale is quite good. That last is the only one
with the founder's name on it.

I think the job title is dining room hostess.

In that line of work all you have to do to get ahead is to show up
every day, on time, and not too hungover. And be friendly. She keeps
busy. That's her main job (lunch and supper shift) but she still
fills in at her old place at night and on weekends if they're short
staffed or works in the bar in the same hotel as the restaurant when
they're short. Plus baby sit her young grandkids and date her new
guy.

      Title: Glazed Beef on Rice (Japan) - Emiko Kaminuma
 Categories: Beef, Rice, Japanese, Beans, Eggs
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      3 c  Rice; cooked
      4    Beef fillet steaks
      1 ds Pepper
           Oil or Beef suet
    1/4 c  Sake; boiled down
    1/2 c  Mirin; boiled down
      6 tb Dark soy sauce
      1 tb Catsup
      6    Eggs; lightly beaten
      3 tb Milk
      8 oz Edamame; boiled in
           Salted water; shelled
           And thin skins removed
           Oil; for frying
 
  COOK RICE: Rinse rice, repeatedly. Soak in water; cooked with the
  equal volume of water.
  
  Sprinkle the beef steaks with the pepper. Heat a frying pan and
  melt the suet. Fry the steaks to taste. Remove from the pan and
  set aside. (Cover them with aluminum foil to heat through.)
  
  Put the sake, mirin, dark soy sauce and catsup in the same frying
  pan and cook until the liquid thickens slightly. Remove 2/3 of the
  sauce and reserve. Boil down the remaining 1/3 of the sauce over
  low heat. Return the steaks to the wok and stir well to coat them
  with the thickened sauce. Remove from the pan and cut into bite
  sized pieces.
  
  Combine the eggs, milk and green soybeans in a mixing bowl, and
  blend thoroughly. Heat oil in a separate frying pan and pour in
  the egg mixture. Cook until they are set halfway.
  
  Divide the cooked rice into large serving bowls and spoon over a
  little of the reserved sauce. Lay the fried egg and beef on the
  rice. Spoon on a little of the sauce from the pan.
