Not all lobbyists. Just the whores who take feelthy lucre for their "efforts".
I was a registered lobbyist back in the 1960s - lobbying for the repeal of a
helmet law for motorcyclists. We also had filed suit in state court to overturn
the law. On the day that the legislature voted to repeal their law the state
supreme court overturned it ... making all my impassioned pleas to legislators
moot. And Illinois still does not have a law requiring helmet use for
motorcyclists over the age of 18. OTOH, I mostly wear a helmet when riding my
motosickle ... as a matter of personal choice. Which is as it should be.

 JW> Chocolate bar 1 to 2.5 oz 2.6 to 8 ounces

Once again - that's a matter of personal choice. And I will quibble with some
of those 1950s sizings. 7 oz was the size of a bottle of Co Cola. I never had a
fountain Coke, or Phosphate, etc. in the 50s of less than 12 oz.

McD's fries in the original size (which is still available) are the smaller
size. Larger sizes are, of course, available at increased cost. Same with the
hamburger patties, etc.

Standard candy bars (Hershey, Mars, Nestle, etc.) are still in the 1950s range.
Larger bars - at a higher cost are available.

Sit down restaurant servings of potatoes and pasta have increased in size -
mostly because Mr. Restaurateur has fingered out that spuds and buzghetti are
very low cost, high-bulk items which make it appear that the diner is getting
more bang for his buck.

Not a single thing to be ashamed or afraid of in your list -- once you get past
the viewing with alarums and understand that it's just someone with an axe to
grind presenting numbers to frighten people into believing his/her way. IOW -
someone lobbying individual people rather than Congresscritters.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Staffordshire Lobby *
Categories: Beef, Stews, Potatoes, Vegetables, Grains
      Yield: 4 servings

1 lb Stewing or braising beef; fat
         - removed, cut in small chunks
    1 Handful pearl barley
    1 lg Diced onion
    4 lg Diced potatoes
    1 Swede; diced
    4 Celery ribs; chopped
    4 lg Carrots; scraped, chopped
    2 Beef stock cubes; crushed

  * Beef Soup/Stew

This is a soup/stew that my Mum used to make when her
housekeeping money was running low. I am pretty sure
that other families all over the Potteries had it too.
She used to tell us that when she was young her mother
made the dish with little (or no meat) when money was
  tight.

Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker and cover
  with boiling water.

  Stir to combine.

Leave to simmer for approximately five hours.

Season to taste and serve in large bowls with chunky
  bread.

Tip: Like so many other soup/stew type dishes it tastes
even better the day after it is made. My Dad always
  seasoned his with vinegar.

  Serves: 4
