No travelling for us this year...I am
thinking about maybe taking Anne to

down to the Oregon coast) for a weekend
one of these days...just a get away and
some quiet time somewhere we can
just sit and relax.

-> -> yesterday in a canning break. We'd finished the tomatoes (20 pints) and
-> -> were gearing up to start the peaches (13 pints) that we'd picked up in
-> -> PA on our way down.

->  hn> always the quart jars...wide mouth Kerr jars

-> Mom did both pints (beans, carrots, beets) and quarts (tomatoes & other
-> fruit). I do pints mostly because quarts would be overkill for just the
-> 2 of us. Jams, chutneys, etc get half pints but salsa, chili sauce, etc
-> go into pints.  I've got about 2 empty pint jars, same with half pints
-> and about half a dozen quart jars now.  The rest are full or in the
-> fridge partly used, probably about a gross.

You do what works for you...I was
canning for the three of us and quarts
were better for that. Never canned
tomatoes though.

Time is fun when you're having flies!

-> ->  hn> a good way, she says it's almost a
-> ->  hn> "nervous" feeling.

-> -> Hopefully that will dissapate over time as her body adjusts to the

->  hn> "adjusts"...she had her third (of four)
->  hn> infusion this week. She's still holding

-> Good to hear she's doing well. A break, then radiation? Knock it down
-> and kick it out the door.

One more treatment of the first round
of chemo...then two weeks later we
start the second round of chemo; once
a week for 12 weeks...THEN the radiation.

->  hn> just a mean spirited woman and had nothing
->  hn> nice to say about anyone or anything...

-> Either that or she was a sweet lady until the cancer hit, then she
-> turned into a tiger. I suspect you're right tho and she's been a tiger
-> all her life.

Biggest thing to me was she was so
nasty and I mean NASTY to the nurses
who were giving her the Chemo...poor girls
were just smiling and caring and gentle with
her...inspite of the way she was acting.
I'm sure they were gathering up some
good karma points that day!

-> -> I suspect so. Right now it looks like the Mets will probably finish 3rd

-> Win some, lose some. We're going to a Carolina Mudcats (Class AA) game
-> tonight with some friends. Should be fun; they're bringing their 3 year
-> old son.

Check and see if there's anyone selling
boiled peanuts at the game!!
