Rich Douville demonstrated this method at the 1995 echo
picnic. I've been doing corn more or less this way ever
since.

Corn
cat: starch, vegetable
yield: 1 batch

sweet corn in husks
water

Soak 1 to 3 ears of corn per person in water. Grill over
an open fire, turning frequently, until just done, about
5 min or according to your preference. May be microwaved
to somewhat different effect. When corn is done, pull off
the husks and silk, taking care not to burn yourself.

Very amusing gentleman; it's not clear whether he actually has
ever invented anything of any value. As far as the floppy disk
goes, there are various people who have claimed or been temporarily
given the palm of inventor. I used to know (well, he's dead now) a
guy named Sidney P. Woodsum, who was at one time credited with
the invention of said device, or at least the underlying
technology therefor. I can't find any evidence of this, as he
was at the time working under contract to one of the big
electronic firms, but people used to come up and say, I've
heard of you, you invented the floppy disk. Judging from the one
patent I have seen that has his name on it, it looks more like
he was working on the magnetic drum at the time, about 50 years
ago.

      Yield: 1 batch

    1/2 ts Dijon mustard
           Salt and pepper
      1 sm clove garlic, chopped
      2 Tb finely chopped chives
      1 Tb vinegar
      3 Tb extra virgin olive oil
      1 Tb chopped shallots

  In a bowl, whisk together the vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper.
  Then whisk in the olive oil, garlic, chives and shallots until
  smooth.
