Ärende: cooking out
===================
Hi Nancy,

RH> Sounds like, even tho you were small in numbers, you had a good time.

NB> We did indeed. :) It would have been even better with more friends
 NB> there, of course. :)

We wanted to come but the extra money wasn't there. Too many trips out
west (G) this year. We also wanted a bit of "down time" before school
got going.

 RH> I understand; I canned for 3 days straight (Monday-Wednesday) when we
RH> got back, then made bread on Thursday. Shopped for us and Life Group
RH> on Friday, cooked for Life Group on Saturday. This past week has been a
 RH> bit slower paced tho.

NB> As before said... you've really been a busy one lately... ;)

Just an intensive burst for a few days, now back to my regularly
scheduled busy-ness.

NB> NB>> while there...) Finally just getting back to things now...

RH> Normal is just a setting on my dryer. (G)

NB> Who said anything about normal...!? ;) Able to pick up something
NB> else, like my Fido messages, is all.. ;0

I try to keep up on a daily basis but it's not always possible. Part of
our last trip took us to an internet not available location for a few
days.

 NB> RH>> my folks lift
NB> NB>> Did it work as expected? And are they pleased with it?

RH> The first 10 days or so were great. Steve noticed some issues with it
RH> so someone came out to check them and it worked OK while he was there.
RH> He left and going down it started making a grating sound. We've not
RH> heard any more as to if it was resolved or not.

NB> Hopefully it did get resolved. Working while the repairman is there
NB> is pretty much proverbial, though... ;0

Repairman was supposed to come back today and put in a complete
replacement system. Dad e-mailed him last night, asking it be put off
for a few days (until the flood waters go down in/around Margaretville).

RH> But, Dad likes it as much as Mom; they're both sort of thinking
RH> "Why didn't we do this 5 or 10 years ago?" Next major project is
RH> to get them to have a ramp put in at one, if not both, entrances
RH> have. After that is in, we'll tackle the idea again of dealing
RH> with the washer, dryer, freezer, etc in the cellar.
RH> One battle at a time.

NB> And if the reaction is similar each time, each project should be a
NB> lesser battle... one hopes, anyway... ;)

Don't know about that, as my brother says, they're a couple of stubborn
(folks, he used a different word) at times. but, Dad's leg really
bothered him for several weeks after he fell so he has appreciated the
lift. He was reluctaant to put it in at first but has gotten almost as
much use out of it as Mom has.

RH> I'll have to look; I've been going thru the recipts lately and think
RH> (but not sure) I might have set it aside. Too many trips in too short
 RH> a time.

NB> You certainly were globe-trotting there for a while.. :) Eventually
NB> you'll get it all sorted out... and hopefully haven't put the receipt
NB> into such a "good, safe" spot that it never again re-surfaces... ;)

That's not out of the realm of reality the way things go around here
during the school year.

RH> Our Garmen GPS will sometimes route us one way going to a place and a
RH> different way to come home. Don't know why because each way seems
RH> equally valid but its little pea brain thinks it knows best. We'll

NB> Maybe it's its way of saying that the two are actually equivalent...?

More likely it thinks it has us going round in circles. (G)

RH> addle its little brain big time if we know a better routing than it
RH> wants us to use also. Pulled out the old Rand McNally map book on this
RH> trip when we hit a construction slow down in PA. Saw an exit coming up
RH> so verified it would take us the way we wanted to go and got off before
RH> we got too far into the slow down. Only changed our anticipated arrival
RH> time by a few minutes too. (G)

NB> Recalculating, recalculating... (G) Apparently my directions to the
NB> Pond had the Shipps' Garmin in conniptions, too... ;)

Modern technology at its finest again.

Catch you later,
Ruth
