It does, as anyone can experience by taking a dose of
pure oxygen. The problem is that too little oxygen also
makes you stupid.

But she has not evolved to accommodate such a diet, especially
the vegetable part. Likewise, I occasionally eat bones (cooked)
and have been known to nosh on dry dog food, but I have not
evolved to accommodate that diet.

Do they, now, decades later. The current wisdom is that
ulcer patients should if anything be encouraged to eat them.

You may, but there's hardly a chance I will be in Boston at
that time, and if I were, there would be no chance I could
offer accommodation.

The truth has always been a dispositive defense in defamation
actions for all and sundry. A problem, though, arises when one
tries to define standards of poor service or food. One man's
meat is another man's poison, as one of the books said that I
read as a child.

Short Ribs With Coffee and Chilies
cat: main
servings: 4 to 8

1 Tb oil
4 lg or 8 sm short ribs
Salt and pepper
1 lg onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 dried pasilla chili, stemmed, seeded and minced
1 dried chipotle chili, stemmed, seeded and minced
1 c dry red wine
1 c strong coffee

In a heavy pot that can later be covered, drizzle oil. Over
medium heat, brown ribs well, adjusting heat as necessary
to get a dark crust. Take your time, and season with salt
and pepper as they cook. Remove them to a plate and turn
heat to low.

In same pot, cook onions, garlic, and chilies, stirring
occasionally, until onions are soft, about 15 min. Add
wine and coffee and reduce over high heat by about half.
Return ribs to pot, cover, and cook over low heat (or in
a 300F oven) for 2 to 3 hr. Cook until very tender - beyond
when meat falls off the bone - turning every hour or so.
Taste and adjust seasoning and serve.
