God, I'm getting stupid. Did I type that? I meant to type
m-e-l-o-n-s. Lemons, of course, get their flavor from an
essential oil, not an ester or aldehyde.

Made me drool when they were talking about it the first time.
They had a whole shelf of Lonely Planet and DK guidebooks, and
this last trip Annie wanted me to help choose the ones to throw
out. I said, just let them be.

Considering that when my sister was ill, just a decade ago, a cure
from stage 3 was deemed impossible. Of course, there was no hope for
her from the very beginning - she was at very advanced stage 4 with
multiple metastases (sometimes called stage 5), and Bill's lymph system
involvement seems to have been nipped in the bud, so early stage 3.

Yes. I'm not there now - don't know when I can be back, and
they're awaiting a surgery date - they'll have to be away for
a week for that, and I'm not sure I can take care of 5 cats
for that length of time. All up in the air.

Chicken Fricassee
cat: French, Singaporean, poultry, main
Serves: 4

2 Tb oil
4 chicken legs, divided into drumstick
- and thigh joints, skin removed
115 g brown mushrooms
4 shallots, sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
4 waxy potatoes. peeled and cut into small pieces
150 ml dry white wine
300 ml chicken stock

Heat the oil in a large deep casserole. Fry the
chicken pieces over medium-high heat until golden
brown, turning often. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Slice the mushrooms. Add the shallots to the pan and
fry for 2-3 min, stirring often. Add the garlic,
mushrooms, and potatoes and fry for 2 min.

Pour in the wine and bring to the boil. Allow to bubble
and reduce for 1 min, then pour in the stock and bring
to the boil. Return the chicken to the pan and cover
tightly. Reduce the heat and cook gently for 45 min
or until the chicken is very tender. Serve hot.
