The nachos I get at sports bars are thinly layered nacho chips on a
metal pizza pan, sprinkled generously with diced sweet and hot red
and green peppers, onion and olives, then taco meat and sauce, then
a reasonably generous but not overwhelming amount of Jack cheese.
They are broiled until the cheese melts and served with hot sauce
and a bowl of sour cream on the side. They are quite good, but are
$8 or more.

      Title: Chili Tostados
 Categories: Tex-mex, Chili, Tortillas, Corn, Chilies
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      8    Tortillas (corn or flour)
           Cooking oil or lard
      1 c  Chili con carne
      1 c  Re-fried beans
           TOPPINGS:
           Monterey Jack
           Hot sauce
           Shredded lettuce
           Guacamole
           Chopped tomatoes

  1/2 inch oil, lard or shortening in frypan, then fry tortillas
  until crisp. Spread 1/8 cup heated Chili and refried beans
  on each. Add toppings.
