Hi Ruth,

Have to see what's closer to where my marents live; don't want to spend
a lot of money shipping what'll end up in smoke & ashes.

Depression era hoaders. Dad was 7 when it started, Mom was 9 months. The
Depression followed by WWII's "use it up, wear it out, etc" made for a
generation of uber pack rats. The Baby Boomers are the ones that have to
deal with it in the end. I think all of my siblings inherited the genes;
I have, to a certain extent but the military moves pretty much thinned
them out.

We'll try to watch out for things like that. I've been going thru Mom's
cook books off and on, grabbing ones I know she'll never use and
seriously doubt any of my siblings would either. We've replaced their
old Pyrex dishes with Corelle but I believe the old ones are packed up
and in the basement. Same with some other kitchen things we've replaced.


-> pack; empty out flour, sugar, etc and pass on to the neighbors; pack up
-> all knives that I don't need; assemble a box of basics (chef's & paring
-> knives, cutting board or 2, measuring cups & spoons, wooden spoon,
-> spatulas, scrapers, etc).

 RH> That way if your stuff ends up in Laredo and you're in Kansas City,

Or if we and our stuff end up in Sierra Vista but we've not found
housing yet. We know some motels there have kitchenettes so we could do
some basic cooking.

The above the stove microwave? I've never had it but used it different
times. Rachel's kitchen has it, don't recall Deborah's.
