That sounds outrageous.  Gail recently had an MRI to help diagnose a
bone chip in her elbow.  The amount billed was $1778, but the bill was
knocked down to 443.64, as per agreement with Medicare.  Medicare paid
80% and our secondary coverage paid the rest. We paid nothing.  Sorry to
hear about what your insurance is doing to you.

I've seen similar things on other bills in the past, e.g. procedures
billed at $3000 knocked down to a few hundred $, again with us paying
nothing.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Spicy Beef (India)
 Categories: Beef, Indian, Stew
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      3 T  Butter
      1 T  Crushed coriander seeds
      2 t  Crushed fenugreek seeds,
           -optional
    1/2 t  Turmeric
      2    Bay leaves
      1 lb Lean sirloin beef, cut into
           -1-inch cubes
      2    Medium onions, chopped
      3    To 4 dried red chili
           -peppers, crushed
      3    Green chili peppers, chopped
      3    Cloves garlic, minced
      1    Piece (2 inches) fresh
           -ginger, peeled, chopped
           Salt to taste
    1/4 c  Plain yogurt
    1/4 c  Half-and-half
      1 T  Chopped cilantro
 
    Heat butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Add coriander seeds,
  fenugreek, turmeric, and bay leaves. Cook, stirring, until fragrant,
  about 2 minutes. Add meat, onions, red and green chilies. Cook until
  meat is browned on all sides and onions are soft, about 12 minutes.
  Stir in garlic and ginger; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes.
  Season with salt. Reduce heat to simmer.
    Whisk together yogurt and half-and-half in small bowl. Slowly add to
  meat, stirring constantly, so sauce does not curdle. Cook until sauce
  begins to thicken, about 3 minutes. Garnish with cilantro.
