Poking around with my phone I found out that the hospital has several
WiFi networks available, one of which is unlocked for use by visitors
and patients. Awesome.  I connected to the public net and found a good,
very fast, connection and fired up Netflix to watch a movie while I
was waiting.  

Pretty soon another nurse came in and told me I was going down to 
Radiology for a couple of scans.  They wheeled me down the hall
only to find that no one was there.  "I'll just leave you right here
and the staff will be here in a couple minutes, OK?"

Watched some more of the movie, waited a while, and finally the tech
showed up to scan my head.

There are few things as boring as a CT scan.  I had to lie there on my
back, strapped in around the torso with a hard "sponge" on either side
of my head to hold it rigid, with shielding over my eyes while the
clicky-whirly magic Siemens donut walked back and forth around me, 
photographing cross-sections of my noggin.

When it was all done, I got wheeled back to the room for more waiting
and more movie viewing. Another nurse came in to check my IV and we 
chatted for a while. Turned out that her son had symptoms almost
identical to mine, and was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. So she put some
pressure on the doc, who finally ordered a Lyme test.  That was another
three vials of blood.

More waiting, and more movie viewing with some occasional textng 
between Lynn, Maryanne, and I.  The doc finally came in about 9:00pm
and told me that the CT scans were fine, blood enzymes were fine, no
arterial blockages and no cardiac problems.  He gave me 3 scrips
(Prednisone for the headache, naproxin for an apparent pinched nerve
or perhaps arthritis (!) in my neck/shoulder, and delicious Percoset
for the nighttime headaches that have been waking me up every night
for weeks) and told me to GTFO.

I filled the scrips at the 24 hr pharmacy and took a percoset when
I got home, finally, around 10.  I hadn't eaten anything since about
11:30 when I lunched on a hot buttered tortilla, so I heated up 
what was now leftover braised short ribs. Had supper, went to bed
and slept all night through (finally!) thanks to the percoset.

I seem to be fine this morning.  Ate prednisone and naproxin for
breakfast and, although I still have the scalp pain, there is no
headache to be found.  Pretty awesome.  Follow-up with the doc on
Monday - I want to talk to him about changing my BP meds.
