According to an article in their local birdcage liner the two man
operationsells far afield these days. Publix in Florida carries it as well as a
lot ofrestaurant food distributors. From the following paragraph in the Quad
CityTimes it would appear to be available (but, not COMMONLY available) in
NorthCarolina.

"Today, Boetje distributes its product to all the Quad-City grocery
stores,including HyVee, Jewel, Wal-Mart, Fareway, Save-A-Lot and Schnuck’s as
well asthrough food distribution companies such as Performance Food Group — TPC
inRock Island, Reinhart Food Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and U.S. Food
Servicein North Carolina. Kropp said many of Boetje’s grocery customers have
taken theproduct into their other markets."

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Old-Fashioned Mustard
 Categories: Five, Condiments, Herbs
      Yield: 1 1/2 cups
 
    1/2 c  White Vinegar
    1/3 c  Dry Mustard
    1/4 c  Water
    3/4 c  Brown Sugar
      2 lg Eggs; beaten
 
  In a medium saucepan, mix together vinegar and mustard.
  Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a slow boil
  while stirring constantly. Cook and stir until mustard
  thickens, about 10 min.
  
  Yield about 12 oz.
  
  NOTE: Homemade mustards must be stored in the refrigerator.

      Title: Shad In Mustard Crumbs
 Categories: Five, Seafood, Breads, Citrus
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
  1 1/2 lb Shad filets; boneless,
           - skinless
      6 tb Brown mustard
      1 c  Seasoned bread crumbs
      2 tb Olive oil
      1    Lemon; in wedges
 
  Brush shad filets with 3 tb of the mustard. Dredge in bread
  crumbs, then dab remaining 3 tb mustard over the breading.
  Dredge again in the bread crumbs. It's okay if the surface
  looks crumbly. Saute fish in olive oil until it flakes
  easily, about 4 minutes per side.
  
  Serve with lemon wedges.
