And disorienting. I have been known to cross three times
between the German public zone and the international
secured zone without knowing it, embarrassing the passport
control the first time, angering him the second, and
flummoxing him the third. I'm fairly confident that an
Islamic or Irish Republican terrorist would not have such
an easy time of it ... or I at least hope that. It was
also recently possible to do so at De Gaulle, but I've
not actually done that.

I've only done immigration at LAX a couple times and find it
quick, efficient, and demeaning. The rest of the airport is
a hive of lunacy, but relatively harmless.

Lilli could I suppose be so described, though she's above both
my price and age range, to say nothing of the crimestoppers'.

No and no.

Some have a taste for incinerated albumen, as above or in
s'mores, but I lack that preference.

Indeed.

Back in the 1960s there was an ad narrated by a grumpy
voice - it described how this wonderful comfortable service
drove thousands of tourists to Australia, where they
proceeded to take in all the wonders of that continent,
incidentally disturbing the local fauna and flora. At the
end of the commercial, the voice is revealed to be that of
a koala sitting in his gum tree, who finishes off the
minute by moaning "I hate Qantas." There were many
incarnations and variants of this commercial, all with the
same ending, some of which have been nominated (by whom?)
as among the best and most successful commercials of all time.

cat: celebrity, not quite right
yield: 1 qt

12 to 15 scotch bonnet or habanero peppers, roughly chopped
1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted and mashed
1 c cheap yellow prepared mustard
1/4 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c white vinegar
1 Tb prepared curry powder
1 Tb ground cumin
1 Tb chili powder
1 c molasses
salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients.
