That's about the only circumstance in which I willingly eat
breakfast, though with Billy in hospital, I am sometimes called
in to join Annie in the morning - we've had doughnuts, scrapple
and eggs, and a couple other similar meals together; once I
had leftover steak while she had breakfast food - that was far
more satisfactory.

He's not so fond of pork products as I am. As far as his
claim goes, he said he has a recording of the JSSA person,
which he has offered to play for me. I respectfully declined.

I'm off berry pies except blueberry. Pecan sounds really good,
given my recent sweet tooth (though I guess that it would still
seem too sweet if I actually encountered one in real life).

Hey - when I was in the single digits, my mother made a
blueberry cream pie out of some cookbook, and it came out
curdled and weird but tasted as good as any pie I've had
before or since. Any ideas? The Internet appears to be
heavy on cold pies, especially with a creamy layer and a
blueberry layer.

This one looks similar but I doubt it'd curdle, which
was much of the appeal of the thing. I now wonder,
thinking on the subject, if my mother had forgotten the
flour or had put extra sugar in thinking it was flour,
or maybe there was something wrong with the cream?

Blueberry cream pie filling
cat: dessert
yield: 1


4 c blueberries
2/3 c sugar
4 Tb flour
1/4 ts salt
1/2 ts cinnamon
1 c heavy cream

Place 4 c blueberries in unbaked pastry lined pan. Mix
remaining ingredients and pour over blueberries. Bake
at 400F until crust is nicely browned and filling set,
35-45 min.
