The smaller stores always have been reasonably well stocked, just
missing some of the more exotic (or gourmet or fancy) stuff... maybe not
all the extra prepared food departments, etc.  But always good produce,
good meat and fish, plenty of the normal grocery items...  And if there
were something that the smaller stores didn't have that one had interest
in, one could always go down the road a piece to one of the next larger
ones...  But somehow, Danny's girls (4th-generation Wegmans) got the
idea that everyone prefers the biggest, best-appointed stores, and that
the smaller ones are passe'.  Their grandfather must be turning over in
his grave... ;(

So far I manage (the few times I get forced into that sort of place)
with just the shopping cart "walker"... and often my bones/muscles tell
me off later just the same...
