When I first got the product, I thought about going to a local oak
furniture place that makes a lot of their own things from scratch.
We've bought a couple and have been to their warehouse/manufacturing
plant.  I asked about it on the forum.  Some of the fellows there
pointed out that I'd have no way of knowing what all came out of their
sawdust bin.  It might be pure oak, or other hardwood (they do make
cherry furniture for example) -- but it might also be dust from plywood
or composition board, which they also use for parts such as back panels.

I ended up deciding to stick with a reliable source -- the cost is not
too much.  I use the dust when cold smoking (e.g. cheese) and chips
purchased from the hardware store for hot smoking.  One can do a search
and find that there are others who provide sawdust for sale, but it is
not common.

Next time we see you, we'll give you a sample of the smoked cheese:-}}

      Title: Tasty Turkey Sub
 Categories: Sandwich, Toh a/s 96
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      1 lb French bread loaf
    1/3 c  Salad dressing, blue cheese
    1/3 c  Mayonnaise
      2 tb Mustard, Dijon
      1 lb Turkey, smoked/cooked;
           -thinly sliced
     12 x  Bacon strips; cooked, drian
      1 x  Avocado; thinly sliced
      6 x  Tomato slices; 1/4" thick
           Lettuce; shredded
 
  Halve bread lengthwise.  Spread blue cheese dressing on cut side of
  top of bread.  Combine mayonnaise and mustard; spread on cut side of
  bottom of bread.  Layer with turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato and
  lettuce.  Cover with top half of bread.
