Maybe you just showed me the burner and explained how it worked, 
then?

Fire in the smoker is going to raise the temperature inside
the box, and that's the primary reason why I didn't consider
buying a sawdust burner like yours.

I checked your link, and yes - the generator I built is like the Smoke
Daddy.  Only on a bigger scale, and built for a total cost of about
$8, rather than the $225 a comparably-sized Smoke Daddy would have 
cost, because I used thrift store and scrap materials to build it.

My air source, as I noted in an earlier post, is my air compressor,
which feeds a reliable stream of air into the venturi at about 10 PSI
and pumps out huge loads of smoke.

I know I mentioned before that I tried burning pellets in an early
test of my smoker generator, but it's time to stop focusing on that,
Dale. It was only for testing purposes and I don't intend to use
heating pellets in the smoker.

If I did, though, New England Pellets would be a good choice, because
they are 100% locally-sourced hardwood (primarily hickory and maple.)
The concern with heating pellets would be what wood they are made
from, not if there are any contaminants in them, because heating
pellets are strictly sawdust held together by intense compression.
However, some brands do have various other-than-hardwood sawdust
in them (pine, cedar, and so on) which would give an off-taste to 
the food.  Regardless, I have plenty of chip sources that I know are
good and I wouldn't bother with burning heating pellets for anything
else than heating my house.
