I always cook meat balls in sauce after the initial browning. Some get
frozen after the browning but go into the sauce when I make it again.
That's why I can't cook a sauce in under an hour's time; the meat balls
need to absorb some of the sauce and add their flavor to the pot.  It's
also why the meat balls don't make a good meat ball sandwich unless
they've been cooked in sauce for a bit. Once Steve tried taking some
frozen meat balls, defrosting and heating them, then mashing them up for
a meat ball sandwich. I didn't have any sauce on hand; that's when we
made the discovery that cooking the meat balls in sauce makes a huge (!)
difference in their taste.

They're back in Florida now, seeing a lot of doctors there.  They all
are glad to be home but now have to adjust to living the new normal
without the support of all my brothers and sisters in law so close.
Where they are in Florida tho, there seems to be an extensive senior
care network.

I know the feeling. I did the salsa and laundry on Wednsday, plus other
odd chores--went to bed quite tired.  This morning I did more kitchen
work--chopping onion & celery, boiling eggs and making the dressing for
a potato salad.  Got a couple of loads of laundry done, then spent a
good bit of the afternoon on the computer.  Put in an order from one of
my sewing supply places, found and printed 5 articles for my paper and
now Fido.  After I finish, I'll put together a shrimp scampi and salad
for supper.

That looks good!  Add some precooked shrimp and you'll have a sort of
scampi.  I might up the garlic tho a bit on it. (G)

We sent stuff back to our families from Germany and Hawaii; they were
the 2 places we lived that we figured (most of) our siblings wouldn't
ever get to.  Both sets of parents made it to both places but as far as
I know, only Steve's sisters and our daughter Deborah have gone to HI.

That was one reason, me house sitting for my parents was another.

Keep dreaming; you might make it some day.  I could give you a list of
places to see, where to eat, etc. for Oahu with a few suggestions for
Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.
