Which is why the Google.com (in English) is so nice. In my v8.0 the search bar
is to the right of the URL/address bar and to the left of the "home" button.
Since I didn't add it on - I figured it was a standard feature. Mine has been
there since v2.xx even if it is seldom used. Mainly because I use iGoogle as my
home page and the Google search engine is prominent at the top of my home page.

ML> the local version: if I want google.de, I'll darn well type
ML> google.de, whether I'm in Berlin or Boston. And the "did
ML> you mean" feature and the autocomplete, don't get me started

I find the autocomplete suggestions are sometimes useful. But, if not, I just
go ahead and type in what I want. As for the "did you mean" -- that's just a
silly, nanny thing. Once in a very great while I will fat finger something and
the "did you mean" prompt will cause me to look at what I have typed --
especially when the "did you mean" suggestion is what I meant to type.

ML> on those. Anyhow, if I decide to let Dragon be my browser
ML> (thank you, Sean, for pointing me in this direction), I'll
ML> probably marry it to an alternate to Google. I wish that

I finally managed to get an installer of Chromium - but, have not test flown it
yet. Boy, they sure did their best to sell me Chrome. Do you have the URL for
Komodo Dragon (he asks trying to get out of searching for it).

ML> Altavista had been kept up as a viable alternative - I'm
ML> pretty convinced that the only reason it didn't win was
ML> because its name wasn't mass market enough.

Alta Vista was my first home page - back in the w95 days. It was a really great
search engine for its time. And had it not been bought out by Excite ......
