cross the state line in any direction the nanny state(s) dictates that I no

Never needed one as an adult. But I remember the one my mother had - handed
down from her mother - and handed on Georgia - wrought iron frame with wooden
slat sides which could be lowered from the outside. Heavy old sucker. Probably
painted with lead based paint, too.

Best I can remember when I left home is 20c/lb hamburger. When I was married we
could take a 1/2 lb of hamburger, a store-brand mac & cheese box dinner and a
can of condensed soup (mushroom or ???) and have dinner for two for under a
buck.

      Title: Golden Buck
 Categories: Sauces, Cheese, Beer
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      3 c  Grated Cheddar cheese
      1 tb Butter
    3/4 c  Colt 45 Malt Liquor; or your
           - favourite frothingslosh
      1 lg Egg yolk; slightly beaten
 
  Melt cheese and butter in top of double boiler, add half the
  Colt 45 when cheese is partly melted and cook, stirring
  constantly. Combine remaining booze with egg yolk and add
  slowly; stirring constantly until smooth and thick.
  
  Serve on hot toast. Sprinkle with cayenne.
  
  Feel free to substitute your favorite brew.
