The lizard and the company he is flogging are American creations. The accent
is, to my ears, and to the ears of my Pommy friend, Derek, not the Cockney that
some hear, but, more a English Midlands or upmarket Canberra, CoA as heard by
him when he was a minion of the UK gummint posted there. The advertising agency
who is responsible for the adverts, and the voice actor who provides the sound
track claim that it is a "modified Cockney accent" -- which can mean damned
near anything. The current Cockney accent is done by Jake Wood an English
actor. Previously the voice has been supplied by Kelsey Grammer (the stiff
English accent), Richard Steven Horvitz (the voice in the Kung Fu Fighting
spot), and Dave Kelly (the relaxed British-Aussie accent). (details sourced

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Honey Mustard Glazed Smoked Gammon Joint
 Categories: Pork, Sauces, Vegetables
      Yield: 4 servings

      3 kg Gammon Joint
     20    (or so) Cloves

MMMMM--------------------------GLAZE--------------------------------
      1 tb Runny honey; (warm slightly
           - if not runny)
      1 tb Brown sugar
      1 ts Mustard powder (Colmans)
      1 ts Worcestershire sauce
      1 ts Tomato puree
      1 ts Vinegar; balsamic if you
           - have it

  Soak the joint, ideally overnight, in cold water. This
  helps to remove any excess salt from the curing process.

  Mix together the glaze ingredients.

  Drain and rinse in cold water. Place in a pan and cover
  with fresh water, bring to the boil and simmer covered for
  one hour.

  Drain and remove from the pan. Cut off the skin and
  discard leaving a nice covering of fat on the meat. Stud
  the fat with the cloves then cover the meat with the
  glaze. You may wish to allow the meat to cool slightly
  first. If not be careful as the joint will be very hot!

  Place in a pre-heated oven at 400øF/205øC (360øF/180øC if
  it is a fan oven)

  Roast for another 45 - 60 mins until cooked through. If
  the top stats to burn turn the oven down a bit. 

  Serving Suggestion: Serve hot or cold. This is great as a
  roast dinner or on sandwiches.
