In a mix of city/highway our F-250, smallest V-8 gas engine about 300HP, 
gets 16-18 or so without trailer, 8-9 towing.  Towing means no overdrive 
and automatic transmission works differently.  Connie's Focus gets 
around 28-32, depending on whether or not I can keep my foot out of the 
carburetor, it's a manual transmission and a zippy little thing.  The 
Sebring gets about 24-26, automatic transmission.  As I've said before, 
except for when I'm towing I do speedlimit +10%.

Which is why I went to fleet sales.  Together with the slick color 
brochure/web site I sat down and determined what I wanted and the least 
expensive way to get that (packages versus individual options).  Walked 
into the woman's office and she punched it into the computer.  Since 
there were no unresolved conflicts out popped an order form, the only 
change was because Connie wanted some extra chrome, like for the bumpers 
instead of paint.  I was ordering a truck, I didn't need extra chrome, 
after all it's a...well a truck not a fashion statement.  Sign on the 
dotted line and waited for them to call me and tell me the actual price, 
so I could pay, and when it was in Seattle.  They called, we bought 
one-way tickets to Seattle, checked into a motel, spent a week (and 700 
driving miles on the truck) finding a 5th wheel to buy.
