Ärende: back to school

Happy New Year Ruth!

-> And you also. We're down in Florida at my in laws. They live in a
-> retirement community; I think the favorite thing to do with this group
-> is eating. My MIL had a house full last night and enough food to feed an
-> army; tonight we were at one of their friends with more people and more
-> food. We've had enough calories over the last 3 days to last a week or

Eating or cooking...a lot of retired Moms can't get
past cooking for a family and changing to "cooking for
two". My wife has some Aunt's who live in Florida and
she loves to cook even though she's all alone now.
So she goes to every potluck in her retirement 
community...her golf cart has more miles on it 
than her car does!

First time ever really. Just got 
off the phone with her, she's about
to make another run from Bodega Bay
to Sacramento with more "stuff".
This time she's going to also stop
and pick up some Toilet paper and 
paper towels (grin)...live and learn!!

Nope it's a single row of "townhouses" that 
runs perpendicular to the street..so she
has a long walkway to get to her door. 
but it's nicely landscaped and rather 
quaint...

He's about as far from academic as you
can get. Smart kid..but could not 
handle the "school atmosphere". Not 
sure what the real deal is...but he
works at a UPS store as a counter 
person.

You spent most of your life not "in"
the academic world, so you'll be 
returning to "normal life"...except
the kids are all gone now. And being a 
preacher's wife will more than fill your
time! I remember my Grandmother was even
busier than my grandfather!

back

-> And the kids are probably anxious to have their "real" teacher. Both of
-> our girls had 3 different 4th grade teachers. Rachel's was due to
-> classroom rejuggling; Deborah's was because of our move from Frankfurt
-> to Berlin. Her teacher the first week or so in Berlin was finishing up a
-> sub job that began at the start of the school year and ran thru the end
-> of the first quarter. She had Deborah for a few days but was able to
-> give a creditable review at the parent teacher conference. We also met
-> the regular teacher at the conference; I think she'd been on maternity
-> leave or something the first part of the school year.

Anne is just happy to be at a 
point where she can get back into
the classroom...she misses it an
awful lot!

-> Sounds like the Mets; they blew enough games by Little Leaguer mistakes

There are rumors that the team is 
positioning itself to be "forsale"
in the next 3-5 years...so we could
see some rough seasons if they're
looking at reducing payroll to make
sale more palatable to the new buyer.
I hope that's not true...but it's
baseball so you never know until the
deal is done!
