I've looked at a *lot* of sausage recipes. And, while there is no "definitive"
recipe for any type of sausage what I reported is what I have observed. If my
memory isn't playing tricks on me, nearly every formula for Italian sausage has
some fennel in it ... from a tiny amount to an overload - but, some.

Goy Ferengi, the host, is not as good at what he does as he thinks he is. So,
it stands to reason that, while he may have been able to fool Scripps into
giving him a slot on TVFN, he is mistaken on much that he does.

You are correct - I have not tried Califunky chilli. There is so much other
stuff (a lot of it good) to eat there. As for the right coast chilli - I have
had my tastebuds insulted more than sufficiently for one (or even two)
lifetime(s). I see no reason to subject myself to further depredations to my
mouth when there is so much other really good food to sample.

      Title: The Ferengi Ensign
 Categories: Five, Booze, Dairy
      Yield: 1 shooter

      1 oz Cinnamon vodka
      1 oz Chocolate vodka
      1 oz Coconut vodka
      3 oz Irish Cream
        ds nutmeg; (opt)

  Use a rocks glass ...

  We made this drink soon after infusing our second batch of
  cinnamon vodka. This batch came out a little spicier than
  the first, possibly because we didn't add any sugar to the
  second. As a result, the cinnamon taste is fairly strong in
  this drink, but not prohibitively so.

  The taste of the drink changes with each sip. It started out
  overwhelmingly cinnamon, but that subsided after a couple of
  sips. Chocolate pops up in varying intensities and
  intervals, then Irish Cream. Eventually I realized what it
  needed to tie everything together, and sprinkled a little
  nutmeg over the top. That sealed the deal. It tastes like
  all that's good about egg nog, without the sliminess.

  "The Irish Cream is almost an afterthought," Wayland said.
  "A whisper of chocolate shifts around, sometimes on the back
  end, sometimes the front."
