What is not a right is to damage someone else's property.
And the right to make a damned fool of oneself noisily (freedom
of expression) is counterbalanced by the neighbors' right to
peace and quiet.

Could a sufficiently drunk person squeeze off even three
shots equally spaced in rapid succession? I posit sober
shooters. And perhaps military or law enforcement hands?

There are probably several days a year when I myself drink as
much as you do in 365, then.

You can probably guess that it was Joisey. And let it be known
that I spend more time there than perhaps I ought, not all at
the airport.

Edited to add: the McDonald's at EWR is next to useless to me,
as it is outside security, and there are tons of other places
to go to if one escapes the concourses.

The problem is finding the button on the cash register to do
a sale (there apparently isn't one).

I always thought your town a paragon of reasonable pricing.
Had to go fire up MSST to find out where that was and that
the restaurant in question is on Rte 2 at 34th St. Why'd
you eat there instead of the tantalizingly named Parthenon
Family Steak House (I like the juxtaposition), the No Where
Bar, the Palm Club, or the Hill Side Inn?

U.S. Capitol Bean Soup
cat: soup
yield: 1 batch

1 lb dry white beans, soaked overnight (or quick soaked)
1 meaty ham bone or 2 smoked ham hocks
3 qt water
3 onions, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
4 stalks celery, with leaves, finely chopped
1/4 c parsley, finely chopped
[Senate version: add 1 c cooked mashed potatoes]
salt and pepper to taste 

Garnish: minced parsley or chives

Strain the water from the soaked beans and put in a big pot
with 3 qt water and the ham bone or ham hocks. Bring to a
boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hr.

Stir the chopped vegetables and herbs into the pot (and
also the mashed potatoes if you're cooking the Senate
version) and cook over low heat for another hour, until
the beans are nicely tender.

Remove the bones from the pot. Cut off the meat into
small bits and return the meat to the pot, discarding
the bones.

When ready to serve, ladle into bowls and garnish
with pinches of herbs. For "U.S. House of Representative
Bean Soup" authenticity, crush a few of the beans in
each bowl to thicken the broth and make it slightly opaque.
