"Making" him do anything is futile. Of course, "making" me do
anything won't work, either. We're pretty stubborn.

Or create his own. He just now urgently called me over (10 pm, I'm
getting ready to turn in), could I come to the kitchen right away?
So I did, and he asked me to smell his dish of kale. I said it
smelled like greens and olive oil and mushrooms (i.e., glutamate).
He thought it smelled contaminated by bodily fluids, even though he
had just prepared it himself, thawing a box of frozen and cooking it
a while in olive oil and MSG. After I said it didn't smell
contaminated, he asked if he smelled contaminated. Hypersensitivity
to smells is said to be an Asperger's or autistic thing; noticing
smells that aren't there is something altogether different.

Sometimes he's like a small child; others he's a manipulative
child, only to his credit he's not really very good at that.
There have been occasions when I've basically snapped and
actually cleaned the kitchen (takes a couple hours when he's
really messed it up), and he tells me afterwards that I am a
better man than he.

This is not lost on one. But he won't do it.

      Title: Ginger Melon Pork
 Categories: Pork, weird
   Servings:  6

      1 tb Cooking oil
      1 lb Fresh pork leg cubed-fresh
           -ham
    1/2    Thinly sliced onion
      1    Minced clove garlic
      1 tb Grated fresh ginger OR 1
           -teaspoon dry ginger
      2 tb Soy sauce
    1/4 c  Dry sherry
      2 tb Wine vinegar
      1 tb Cornstarch
      3 c  Melon cubed - honeydew or
           -cantaloupe
    1/2 c  Pickled watermelon rind
           -diced

  Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Brown pork cubes, stirring
  until lightly browned, about 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in onion, garlic and
  ginger; stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  Mix together soy sauce, sherry, vinegar and cornstarch. Add to skillet.
  Cook and stir until sauce thickens. Stir in melon and watermelon rind. Heat
  through.
