The only squid I ever see in our stores are under 10 cm in total
length with at most 5 cm tentacles and small soft suckers.

I am a firm believer in under 90 seconds (if fried) OR over 90 minutes
(stewed).

Most of us have to pay for our own dental. The exceptions are the
truly poor (on social assistance), Native Aboriginals who are
"status Indians" and those with dental plans as a fringe benefit
through their employment. The NWT (but not all the territories or
provinces) has some limited basic assistance for Seniors (over age
60) regardless of income. For example I qualify for one check-up and
cleaning/polishing per year. My dentist thinks I need four cleanings
annually and I compromise with two, paying for the second one out of
pocket. And I should note that people on social assistance and
qualified natives don't get everything free. For example they get
free extractions as required but not bridges and crowns. One way to
get free work done is to tell your dentist that you have a morbid
fear of dentistry and need to be knocked out. Then, if you can
convince the dentist and a sympathetic doctor that you are sincere,
the fillings and extractions are done in a hospital setting under
anesthesia and then it's a medical procedure and covered!
