I didn't know it got that bad!  You have my sympathies.

I suppose our ABC and SBS news services think it is a form of light
relief from gunfire in the streets of Syria, European financial gloom,
our own politicians' bickering, crashing cruise liners and the
importance of the wheat farmers starting mouse baiting early.

The most balanced world TV news service is provided by Al Jazeera,
which we get on SBS daily, during the afternoons.

Kevin often gives me his old Rupert newspapers, which he gets for the
crosswords.  Most of the stuff in them is trivia written for emotional
10 year olds.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: SAUCY MUSSELS
 Categories: Mains, Appetisers, Seafood
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      1 tb Olive oil
      4    Garlic cloves; sliced fine
      2 lg Chillies- red; chop fine
      4    Tomatoes- vine-ripe; chop
      1 c  Stock- fish
      2 kg F- mussels; scrub/debeard
      1 bn H- parsley leaves; chopped
           Sp- black pepper, cracked
 
  In a large pan with a cover add the oil & saute the garlic & chilli
  for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes & fish stock & bring liquid slowly to
  the boil.
  
  Add the mussels & parsley, cover & cook for approximately 5 minutes,
  till the mussels have opened. Discard any that do not open. Season
  with black pepper.
