I understand. What's worse is working full time and still needing food
stamps. We were in that situation the year or so before Steve went into
the Army.  What rankled even more was that he had to take a day off
without pay to go into the food stamp office (30 miles away) to spend
maybe 10 minutes telling them our situation hadn't changed in 6 months.
He started talking with reruiters after that--the Army was the only one
that really gave him any attention.  The worst "benefit" of the food
stamps was the 15 pounds of velveeta type (plastic) cheese we got from
one of the government give aways.  Couldn't eat it fast enough (we
couldn't give it away) and we couldn't freeze it.

 SD> Yes and not having any luck.  We've been able to pick up a little cash
 SD> through various ways of doing things and while that's nice, that's not
 SD> enough to live on.

I know; you try your best but you just can't get ahead.  Is Maura making
and selling any jewelry or are her classes keeping her too busy for
that?

 RH> What about pilling him? Our sweet Jenny-cat turned into a tigress
 RH> whenever we had to give her a pill. She didn't like her claws trimmed
 RH> either but tolerated it (We had to wrap her in a towel and hold on
 RH> tight!) but she usually got a kitty treat after the job was done.

 SD> We're not brave enough to pill him.  After we saw what he did at the
 SD> vet's office to the poor vet tech before he was sedated, we just put
 SD> up with him.  Felix will mrrr and hiss a little, but he mostly wiggles
 SD> and squiggles when we trim the claws.

Funny, how sweet little pussy cats turn into such tigers when they need
a pill.  (G)

I would too. A friend of ours had a sweet little kitty that gave our son
in law (to be, at that time) some major scratches when he gave her a
bath.

 SD> The problem with that is we can't move outside of the bus line.  While
 SD> I'm driving Miss Maura now, when I do get back to work, she is

 SD> helps us a lot.  As for jobs, with her being in school, that's not an

T'was a thought.

We don't have it much any more. I have a can of tomatoes, corn and okra
that I'll probably have some time when Steve isn't around for supper.
Over rice, with some sort of sausage sounds good to me.

Looks good. One of Steve's parent's friends gave us a recipe for an
artichoke dip that uses canned 'chokes. It's good but right now I don't
know where it is. Wonder if frozen or canned 'chokes would work in this
one.
