Weird I know, but that's what happened.

He's been leaving mail around for me to see - an odd
way of communicating, sort of like when he's angry with
something he will leave a pair of black shoes in the
middle of the room or passage where I could trip on it
- and the causes he contributes to are not all bad (just
mostly). Private donations, well, if he can get love
by buying it, that's fine too.

How odd that the most famous mediaeval castle in Germany
and perhaps the world was built just a century and half ago.

I don't care for Wagner and have not been to Bayreuth
for that reason, but he and Mad King Ludwig and these
castles are all intertwined in history.

Oh, he's alternately claiming that he's perfectly normal
and terrified that he's totally gaga. He's doctor shopping
continually, which is okay, I guess, better than giving the
money to dubious charities.

I feel for you in your position as well, but
at least there the enemy is known, and you're

      Title: Gekochtes Schweinefleisch - Kesselfleisch
 Categories: Pork/ham, German
      Yield: 4 servings

  1 1/3 kg Pork that has been hung at         15    Peppercorns
           -least 8 days (not                  1 tb Coriander
           Quite 3 lbs)                        1    Bay leaf
      1    Yellow turnip [substitute:          6    Juniper berries
           -carrot]                                 Salt and pepper to taste
    1/4    Celeriac bulb                       1 ds Sugar
      1    Parsnip                                  Vinegar (to taste) (1/8 -
      1    Leek                                     -1/4 cup)
      2    Onions studded with 4 cloves

  Best suited for pork legs, ribs, trotters, or pork belly.

  In a saucepan, combine the water with the rinsed and chopped herbs and
  spices and bring to a boil.  Add the meat, making sure that it is (barely)
  covered by the liquid, and cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until tender.  Serve
  hot, with all the seasonings.

  May be served with potatoes.
