====================================================================
Hi Hap,

 HN> ->
-> HN> Only reason we knew is because Anne got
-> HN> anemic when she was pregnant with Amanda.
-> HN> Doctor put her on iron pills and told her
-> HN> to lay off the tea when taking them...She

-> With Rachel, I had the prenatal vitiamins and iron, was anemic so I was
-> told to eat liver once a week. Changed doctors for Deborah, used an all
-> natural multi vitamin plus iron, no trouble with anemia at all. Not a

 HN> Lucky you!

For the liver or having no anemia the 2nd time around? I did a whole lot
better healthwise the 2nd time. I was able to eat and enjoy more food
without morning nausea.

 HN> Anne swore off caffeine totally
 HN> while she was pregnant. Me?
 HN> I drank her share!!

Is that why you're still wired?

-> HN> we have a little brown rice and red rice
-> HN> in the house but use them seldom as well.

-> We can't go quite as low carb as you are. (G)

 HN> Well we are monitoring our blood sugars
 HN> as well.

Knowing diabetes runs in both families, we should too. Kind of hard
around this time of year tho. (G)

-> HN> Since you're not going out into the
->  HN> wilderness on hikes, it's not a needed
-> HN> item. I still go for hikes in the mountains
->  HN> at times for photography outings..and
->  HN> it's GOOD to be prepared!

-> No, we generally don't go out into wilderness areas on hikes. Still,
-> there are times when we travel in winter up north, it doesn't hurt to
-> have extra stuff like that on hand, just in case. Better to have and not
-> need than to not have and need.

 HN> Always better to be prepared!!

Even if it is only with granola bars and suchlike.

-> Of the 3 types of Cheerios, I think I would buy the honey nut if I were
-> to eat it on a regular basis. But, we don't buy that kind of cereal
-> 99.99% of the time.

 HN> read the labels and you'll find that
 HN> cheerios have a lot less sugar than
 HN> most of your granola type cereals.
 HN> However they are pretty high on the
 HN> glycemic index and I think we may
 HN> be phasing them into a less often
 HN> rotation.

A lot of time Steve buys them from the bulk bins at Whole Foods so we
don't have (at home) the breakdown. Suppose we could on their web site
and find it.................

 HN> We also have mini quiches for "just in case"

Now that sounds like a good idea! What size pan do you use for them?

-> We generally get our own breakfasts on days Steve has morning classes.
-> Other days we sometimes do our own, other days we eat together. Got a
-> couple of dozen small eggs from our usual produce lady when we picked up
-> some spinach from her the other day; 3 of them make a good omelette.

 HN> A 2 egg omelette is just not right!

A 2 egg omelette made from large eggs is good, to bordering almost on
the too big size for me. Depends on what the fillings are; if they're
light, 2 eggs are OK but if they are multiple, heavier ones, a 1.5 egg
omelette is better. Sometimes Steve will make a 4 egg one and I'll take
about 3/8 worth.

-> And don't come here when the pine is pollenating. I thought I'd miss it
-> last spring by going to LV in mid April but didn't. The trees pollenated
-> a few days before I left--but it wasn't quite as bad as the year before.
-> I wasn't quite as miserable. (G)

 HN> Washington is the EVERGREEN state, we have
 HN> zillions of doug fir trees, spruces, hemlocks
 HN> and others...when it's pollen time you can
 HN> call most cars "dust yellow"!

We had that in GA and have it here in the spring. It's probably worse up
your way but miserable enough here. We've had such a mild winter things
are pollenating (and even blossoming) already, way too early. It'll be
an early, and probably miserable for allergies, spring.

-> HN> as well. The curls may or may not be
-> HN> permanent, and the color is grey, but
-> HN> that too may not be permanent.

-> The light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train. You're over
-> the worst and Anne is doing very well over all. Keep up the good
-> work--and take her some place special for Valentines's day.

 HN> we are doing our best to weather each
 HN> storm as it comes!!

And no end of the sessions blizzard. DONE! FINISHED! OVER! YEEHAA!
WHOOPIE! YAY! ALL GONE! NO MORE! GRADUATED! (Does it look like I'm
happy?)
