Hopefully you will manage to remain disconnected from such.  So far I
have, although some of my friends have suffered non-cardiac arrest.

I have suffered that, in the dump of a terminal, LA.  Because someone
went the wrong way and entered a "clean" area without being screened,
the staff went into extreme panic mode and kicked everyone out into
the street for hours while teams of searchers looked for a possible
bomb that the "terrorist" might have left in the area.  In that
airport it would be easy for an innocent such as myself to get lost
and trigger such activities.  I wonder what would happen if I
inadvertently dropped a bag of turmeric, which burst, scattering
an aromatic powder on the floor of an aeroplane?

It would be a serious mistake to have complete faith in the scanner,
as I can think of ways in which it could be confused.  If a small
electronic timer or other unknown device happens to be packed in a bag
next to a parcel of cheese, thus giving a good simulation of a bomb,
what would be done then?  Would the inspectors pick straws to decide
who was going to open the bag, or would it be taken outside and blown
up, anyway?  The sensible action would be to find the owner and get
him to open the bag, but that goes back to putting out a call for the
owner.  If the owner didn't hear the call, what then?  Terminal dump,
or blow it up, anyway?   OTOH, if there was, in fact, a valid bomb
disguised as a timer alongside a cheese, that call would be the signal
for a real baddy to remotely activate the device.

That is hardly a penance, but then I am sure that you feel you have
not sinned, and therefore do not need to suffer that way.

      Title: Australian Lentil Burgers
 Categories: Vegetables
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      3 c  Cooked red lentils
      1 c  Mashed potatoes
      1 c  Pumpkin, mashed with the
           -carrots
      1 c  Carrot , mashed with the
           -pumpkin
    1/2 c  Sesame seeds
    1/2 c  Almonds, ground
    3/4 c  Grated carrot
    1/2 c  Firm tofu, mashed
           Tamari and pepper to
           -season
 
  Preheat oven to 200C. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Mold into
  patties and place on an oiled baking sheet. Bake for 20 mins. Serve
  with your favorite garnishes on a bun.
