The business is/was *not* owned by Popeye the Sailor Man. Nor was the character
ever affiliated with the chicken/seafood/Cajun food fast-food chain. The name
of the business is Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (no apostrophe). Thus the correct
possessive is Popeyes'.

      Title: Sjo:mansbiff - the Sailor's Stew
 Categories: Beef, Potatoes, Stews, Beer
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
  1 1/2 lb Flank steak; in thin slices
      4 md Onions; in thin slices
      8 md Potatoes; peeled, cut in
           - thick slices
      2 tb Butter
      1    Bay leaf
      1 ts Thyme
           Salt & white pepper
      2 c  Water or bouillon
           +=MIXED WITH=+
           Beer
           +=OR=+
      2 c  Beer
 
  Brown the onion slices in butter and remove them from the
  frying pan. In the same pan brown the meat slices briefly
  on both sides. Season with salt and white pepper. Add
  seasonings and liquid; cover. Cook 10 minutes.
  
  In a casserole put layers of meat, sliced potato and onion,
  potatoes forming the bottom and top layers. Cover with
  liquid and let the stew simmer in the oven or on the stove
  for 45-60 min (cooking time is not critical).
  
  Serve sizzling hot.
  
  You can also prepare the stew in a pressure cooker instead
  of a casserole. This will shorten the cooking time to 15 min
  and, at the same time, less liquid can be used, since it is
  not essential that the stew be completely covered.
